sandwich tayo!

i love wraps. that's a fact. but another thing that i like that is similar to wraps is... sandwiches! they are fairly easy to make, at masarap din!

minsan sandwiches ang niluluto kong lunch for the family... yep nabubusog din ako sa sandwiches. at kaya ko din hindi kumain ng kanin for lunch at magtinapay nalang...

this is a ham and bacon sandwich with tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and (parmesan) cheese :)

why parmesan cheese? mas mababa calories :) (paano ba naman e may bacon na may ham pa e di good luck nalang sa bilbil diba? hehe)

mahilig ako sa madaming gulay pag sandwiches :)

yep masarap kaya ang gulay kapag may bacon : ) at cheese and tomatoes pag pinagsama e masarap. think: pizza. parang ganun. dati i made this toast na sliced tomatoes and (mozzarella) cheese lang nakapatong, tapos ito-toast mo... and masarap naman s'ya...

di naman halata na mahilig ako sa ham 'no? hehehe

i also made chicken sandwiches dati... but i can't find the pics... hehe sorry naman...

there's also the panini. it's just like sandwiches. it has bread (usually ciabatta bread) grilled ng manipis habang may nakapalaman na, at usually ham and cheese and nakalagay... pwede naman ibang laman.

ganito ang panini... photo from here

o diba sarap? photo from here

i just love wraps/fajitas/whatever you wanna call it ^_^

super gusto ko talaga ng fajitas. bukod sa masarap yung tinapay na bilog e enjoy din yung pagbabalot nung mga ingredients. i remember dining out with my best friends at this resto na lagi namin ino-order e yung meal na may soft tortilla wraps, the yellowish rice (that i forgot what it's called), salsa and roasted chicken... tapos hihimayin nyo yung chicken, at ilalagay sa bread together with the others tapos ibabalot, and then lamon... mmmm! shet parang gusto ko uli kumain dun.... at dahil namimiss ko ito, at lalong tumindi ang pagkamiss ko kumain ng wraps nung lumabas yung fish wraps na commercial na yun e i decided to make chicken wraps...

usually yung chicken fingers na ginagawa ko is just the ordinary flour-egg-japanese bread crumbs breading, pero this time para maiba e i decided to make it similar to the chicken recipe i've seen on a cooking show. so.... nilagyan ko ng parmesan at oregano yung breading : )

here's to show what i've done:

cut the chicken breasts into strips...

now you're gonna need your flour, beaten eggs and bread crumbs...

for the crumbs, i used the white flaky ones, (yung sinasabi nilang japanese bread crumbs) para masarap ang pagka-crispy.. i added grated parmesan cheese, dried oregano and some garlic powder on the breading. mix it up.

dredge the chicken strips in flour...

then cover with the beaten eggs...

and then dredge in breadcrumbs.

(i use a spoon for easy covering. para ma-scoop mo din yung ibang breadcrumbs over what you're covering, at pwede mo pa ipang-pat.)
and then do some frying : )

para ma-absorb ang excess oil... kitchen towels : )

syempre, di ko matiis na hindi kumagat. hehe : )

the chicken strips with parmesan breading

wash and cut up (or tear) the lettuce

dice some tomatoes...

put some chicken strips, tomatoes, lettuce, dressing and cheese

for the dressing i just used ready made caesar salad. i looove caesar salad dressing : )

wrap it up...

...and take a bite ^_^

i really love soft flour tortilla wraps : )

i've done my own soft flour tortillas before, but that's for another post... : )

iba sa nabaon sa limot

i love shrimps in my pasta :)

well it's been more than 2 months already after i posted my previous entry at marami na syempreng naipon na mga pictures sa baul ni lola. but i'm not gonna post all of them in just 1 entry. ihihiwalay-hiwalay ko pa din.

it's a fact that i looove pasta. super! as in if i were to choose a type of dish that i could only eat for my entire stay here sa mundong ibabaw e i'm gonna choose pasta. pizza's the 2nd and chicken the 3rd. and if i were to choose just 1 sauce for my pasta then it would be puttanesca. or pomodoro... as long as it's tomato based. anyway, here are some of them (para lang mai-post na. hehe)

my very own shrimp and mushrooms pomodoro pasta

a closer look...

these were the shrimps used in the sauce

btw pomodoro is easy to make. all you need is some olive oil, minced garlic and tomatoes. serious! you just fry the garlic and tomatoes in the olive oil (and add some salt to taste. for me i use seasoned salt) and then mix your choice of pasta noodles into the sauce and that's it : ) if you wanna add shrimps you can. ang sarap nya, and it's easy : )

well this was the left over pasta (spaghetti ang spirelli) and since i like them both e pinagsama ko nalang :) (this is puttanesca by the way)

with my hair down (gusto ko lang i-post bakit ba?) ^_^

shrimps + tomatoes + garlic = yum ^_^
